Mother's Day Tea Bag Lavender Sachets
To my children,
If I had to choose between loving you and breathing. . .
I would use my last breath to tell you. . .
I love you.
Happy Wednesday, sweet friends!
It's hard to believe April is coming to an end
and May will be here before we know it
Along with May comes the joy of celebrating Mother's
or motherly role models on Mother's Day.
Since Mother's Day is less than 3 weeks away
I thought I would share a fun and easy tutorial
for lavender sachets that are perfect to give on Mother's Day.
Supplies needed:
scrap fabric
stamps
ink
dried lavender
embellishments
The reason these sachets are called "Tea Bag Lavender Sachets"
is simply because they are in the shape of a tea bag.
Cut two pieces of fabric that are
4 1/2-inches long and 3-inches wide.
Fold the two piece of fabric in half
and trim the corners as seen in the picture below.
Your fabric should look like this
Stamp a sweet message or picture
onto some white or cream cotton fabric
and then cut out the message.
Sew the stamped piece of fabric
onto the front side of the sachet.
Tuck a loop of lace or string
between the two pieces of fabric at the top,
then pin the fabric together.
Sew along the edges
and leave a small opening at the bottom
so you can add the dried lavender.
Add the lavender
and sew up the closing.
You can add whatever embellishments you want, my friends.
You can see I adorned my sachets
with fabric and lace flowers along with pretty little beads.
Easy peasy and ever so sweet.
The older I grow,
the more I realize that my mother
is the best "best friend" that I ever had.
I also made a set of sachets
with a birthday theme.
The possibilities are endless.
If you're not into sewing, my friends,
or maybe you just don't have time to make some of these
