A Stolen Heart - Book Review and St. Patricks Day Special at Rose Petal Blessings

From afar, Cimarron Creek seems like an idyllic town
tucked in the Texas Hill Country.
But when former schoolteacher Lydia Crawford steps onto its dusty streets in 1880,
she finds a town with a deep-seated resentment of Northerners--like her.
Lydia won't let that get her down, though.
All will be well when she's reunited with her fiancé.
But when she discovers he has disappeared
--and that he left behind a pregnant wife--
Lydia is at a loss about what to do next.
The handsome sheriff urges her to trust him,
but can she trust anyone in this town
where secrets are as prevalent as bluebonnets in spring?

My Thoughts
A Stolen Heart is sweet, but a tad blah.
It's confession time, my friends. . .
I made it through 2/3 of the book before jumping to the end.
I know, I know, shame on me!
I truly hate skipping pages in a book
and I can count on just one hand the times I have done it.
Sadly, this was one of those times.
A Stolen Heart if not necessarily a "bad" book,
it simply did not hold my interest.
The story itself is the perfect story for a "newbie" reader,
someone who is just getting into fiction stories -
does that make sense?
It's a book that I would have loved back when I was 17-years-old.

I enjoyed the setting of the book
and the whole idea of the candy shop.
If you do read this book than I recommend having a box of chocolates on hand
because you will crave sugary goodness when reading about the fudge,
peanut brittle, penuche, mints, and so on.

There is a little bit of mystery and suspense
and a touch of romance throughout the pages.
We all have different tastes and while this book just wasn't my cup of tea
it may be yours, dear friends.
The author is certainly talented,
but I simply found the book to be lacking.
It was somewhat enjoyable, but not very memorable.

All-in-all I am giving A Stolen Heart 3 stars.
