Blessed Assurance

Beware of  despairing about yourself.
You are commanded to put your trust in God,
and not in yourself.
- St. Augustine -

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
angels descending bring from above
echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest;
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
watching and waiting, looking above,
filled with his goodness, lost in his love.

Chorus:
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long;
this is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.
- Fanny J. Crosby -

 Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and not be afraid:
for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song;
he also is become my salvation.
- Isaiah 12:2 -

 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit,
that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;
if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
- Romans 8:16 -17 -

 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
- Romans 15:13 -

Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
- Titus 2:13-14 -

The Scriptures teach that we can know with absolute confidence
that we have the life of God within us.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that ye may know that ye have eternal life,
and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1 John 5:13 -

This confidence is not based on inner feelings or outer signs.
Rather, this assurance is founded upon the promises
of a faithful God and His inspired Word.
It depends not on the amount of our faith
but on the object of our faith - Christ Himself.
- Kenneth W. Osbeck -

My dear friends,
if you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior,
live with the absolute conviction and triumphant faith
that the apostle Paul had when he exclaimed-
"...for I know whom I have believed."

Have a blessed and joyous Lord's Day!
